Session 13: Maine State Climate Action: Maine’s New Climate Council

The Maine Climate Council is charged with developing a new State climate action plan to both reduce greenhouse gas emissions and help Maine communities adapt and be more resilient to the effects of climate change. The Maine Climate Council’s working groups are charged with researching and recommending greenhouse gas mitigation and adaptation and resilience strategies to the Council. The working groups are:
- Buildings, Infrastructure, and Housing
- Coastal and Marine
- Community Resilience Planning, Public Health, and Emergency Management
- Energy
- Transportation
- Natural and Working Lands
This session will give attendees an opportunity to learn about the work of the Maine Climate Council and to interact with Maine Climate Council working group members about major issues and solutions that each working group is considering.
