What problem/s are you working to solve?
I am dedicated to addressing how corporate governance can be used as a tool in driving sustainable performance (Profit, Planet and People) in the energy sector while also looking forward to addressing the Energy Trilemma, focusing on Security, Affordability, and Sustainability within the energy sector in the long run. My goal is to find solutions that balance these three critical aspects, ensuring a sustainable energy future.
What progress are you making toward solutions?
I am actively researching and applying corporate governance dimensions to enhance sustainable performance with a much focus on the energy sector. I am making progress by researching on various dimensions of corporate governance such as board size, board diversity, board intensity while adding managerial and strategic competence to be a part of corporate governance dimensions in driving sustainable performance in the energy sector.
How could your findings contribute to a sustainable future in Maine and beyond?
By leveraging corporate governance for sustainable performance, my research has the potential to transform Maine’s energy landscape using the best corporate governance dimensions in driving sustainable performance in Maine and beyond. More importantly my long-term focus on the Energy Trilemma will lead to a good policy framework that balances more secure, affordable, and sustainable energy solutions, benefiting not only Maine but also contributing to global sustainability efforts.
Why did you get involved with the Mitchell Center Sustainability Graduate Fellowship Program?
I joined the Mitchell Center Sustainability Graduate Fellowship Program because of its strong commitment to climate change adaption and mitigation solutions, sustainability and interdisciplinary forward-looking research that helps in addressing the pressing needs of the society. The program offers a unique platform to collaborate with like-minded individuals and access resources that align with my passion for sustainable energy solutions.
What sustains you?
My drive to create positive change, specifically in the energy sector through policy framework and contribute to a more sustainable world sustains me. Knowing that my research and efforts can have a meaningful impact on people’s lives and the environment keeps me motivated.
Where do you hope to be in five years?
In five years, I aspire to be a leading policy analyst in sustainable energy solutions, influencing policy, and corporate practices to drive change. I aim to have a significant role in shaping Maine’s sustainable energy landscape and contributing to global sustainability efforts.
What’s your ultimate Maine experience?
My ultimate Maine experience would be witnessing the successful implementation of sustainable energy projects that I have contributed to while looking forward to be a part of Maine Energy Sector. Whether it is a renewable energy initiative or an innovative corporate governance model, seeing tangible results that benefit both the environment and the community would be immensely rewarding.
