Office of Major Scholarships

*Note: The Barry Goldwater Scholarship has a UMaine deadline of December 1st, 2023. Applicants who submitted internal applications may continue working on their applications until the national deadline of January 26th, 2024. 

To apply for this program, students must:

• Be a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, or U.S. permanent resident
• Have a GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (a higher GPA is generally beneficial to the application)
• Be undergraduate sophomores or juniors planning to pursue advanced degrees and continue conducting research
