James Madison Fellowship – Zoom Info Session

The James Madison Fellowship program offers Junior Fellowships to college seniors and college graduates without teaching experience who plan to become secondary school teachers of American history, and Senior Fellowships to former or current teachers seeking further education. Junior Fellows are required to complete their graduate degree within two academic years of full-time study, while Senior Fellows are required to complete their graduate degree within five academic years of part-time study.

Benefits:

  • Up to $24,000 in funding prorated over the period of study, no more than $12,000 in one academic year
  • Funding covers tuition, books, required fees, and room and board if the student is required to live award from their place of residence

Eligibility:

  • Be a U.S. citizen
  • Be a teacher, or plan to become a teacher, of American history, American government, or civics with the inclusion of topics relating to the Constitution at the secondary school level, which includes grades 7-12
  • Have a bachelor’s degree, or plan to obtain a bachelor’s degree by August 31st of your application year
