Teacher Leader Training
Reading Recovery® Teacher Leaders are selected by a school district or region that is committed to implementation of Reading Recovery and a Comprehensive Intervention Model. Candidates for training must hold a master’s degree. Reading Recovery Teacher Leaders work as literacy leaders in their local district and region, teaching children, training Reading Recovery and Literacy Lessons teachers, and providing initial and ongoing professional development and coursework for intervention teachers K-12. Teacher Leader training consists of a minimum 24 graduate credits completed across an academic year under the guidance of a registered University Reading Recovery trainer. Upon successful completion of the training, candidates must meet U. S. standards and guidelines in order to be registered as a Reading Recovery Teacher Leader. For more information contact the Reading Recovery/Comprehensive Intervention Model trainer at the University Training Center.
