Fall 2020 Outdoor Leadership Program

We are still planning to host an Outdoor Leadership Program in the Fall of 2020. 

Learn about Outdoor Leadership with us! The program is designed to provide participants a foundational understanding of outdoor leadership. To complete the program candidates must complete the six 1.5 hour educational clinics and participate in 2 Maine Bound trips/clinics. Upon completion, you will receive a certificate in Outdoor Leadership. This program does not earn academic credit.

Instruction Topics Include:

  • History of Outdoor Education
  • Facilitation & Debriefing Skills
  • Teaching & Lesson Planning
  • Leadership Styles
  • Group Dynamics
  • Decision Making
  • Risk Management
  • Communication & Feedback

Currently, we are planning to meet in person at the Maine Bound Adventure Center. However, some class sessions may be switched to virtual instruction. 

There will be 6 in-person Tuesday classes and all-day skills clinics on two Sundays.

Classes will meet on Tuesdays from 5:30-7pm, September 15th- October 27th. 

Outdoor skill clinics will take place outside on campus. Sunday, September 27th, and Sunday, October 25th. 

Program Cost:

$15 plus the registration fee for one MB trip and clinic of your choice.

September 4th, 2020

Invitations to join the class will be sent: September 8th, 2020
