Outdoor Leadership Program
Are you interested in working in the outdoors or at Maine Bound Adventure Center? This program is perfect for those who are interested in education, teaching, environmental education, parks and tourism, and anyone who may find themselves leading outdoor programming.
This experience is designed to provide participants with a foundational understanding of outdoor leadership. To complete the program candidates must attend seven 1.5 hour classes, participate in two Maine Bound Adventure Center trips/clinics, and attend an overnight expedition with class members. Upon completion, participants will receive a certificate in Outdoor Leadership. This program does not earn academic credit.

- Facilitation & Debriefing Skills
- Teaching & Lesson Planning
- Leadership Styles
- Group Dynamics
- Decision Making
- Risk Management
- Communication & Feedback
- Outdoor Skills
Important Class Dates:
- Classes meet on Tuesday evenings at Maine Bound Adventure Center from 5:30-7:00 pm
- Meeting Dates: 9/24-11/12. Class does not meet on 10/15 over Fall Break.
- Class overnight trip will take place on Sat & Sun Nov. 2nd & 3rd

Program Cost:
$45 plus the registration fee for one MB trip and one clinic of your choice.
Campus Recreation has a scholarship fund!

All Maine Bound trip instructors are required to participate in the Outdoor Leadership Program OR take KPE 286.
