2017-18 Professional Development Opportunities

MAIER will again be offering many new professional development opportunities for the upcoming 2017-18 academic year. These full day workshops are open to teachers, professionals, parents and caregivers, and interested others. Advance registration is required. Maine Autism Institute professional development events run from 9am to 3:30 pm with check-in starting at 8:30am. Cost is $30/person unless otherwise noted. Refunds are not provided, but substitutions are recommended if you need to cancel your registration.

MAIER offering SCERTS Training in 2018!

Headshot photo of Amy LaurentMAIER  will be offering a two-day training “Implementing the SCERTS Assessment Process (SAP) to Guide Program Development for Children with Autism Spectrum Disorders ” on May 3rd & 4th, 2018. This two-day workshop will be led by Amy Laurent, Ph.D., OTR/L, coauthor of the SCERTS model and a national trainer. Attendance will lead to a thorough understanding of the SCERTS model and provide participants with the knowledge and skills to implement the process in their classrooms. Location of this offering is still being planned.

Space is limited for this training and applications are now being accepted. Registration preference will be given to those schools registering as a team (4 or more) to demonstrate a commitment to the implementation of the SCERTS model.
