My pronouns: he/him/his
Edward is the administrative specialist for the Intensive English Institute (IEI), serving as the initial point
of contact for incoming learners of English as a second language. Originally from central New York, he
earned his Bachelor’s degree in linguistics in 2015 from the State University of New York at Buffalo.
Since then, Edward has embarked on a diverse career journey, taking on various roles that enhanced his
skills and broadened his perspectives.
Part of that journey includes serving as a Peace Corps Volunteer in West Africa between 2018 and 2020,
where he immersed himself in the local culture and community. This experience deepened his interest
in intercultural communication and engagement, as well as cultural heritage resource management and
applied linguistic anthropology.
He moved to Maine in the summer of 2024 in search of greater personal and professional growth
opportunities. Currently, he is focused on cultivating a career as an information professional, aspiring to
connect individuals with resources that expand their knowledge and understanding. When not at work,
he enjoys reading, learning other languages, cooking, and volunteering with local organizations in the
community.
