Maine Central Institute and Taiwan Student Visit to Campus Fall 2023

In July 2023, the OIP International Admissions team, along with OIP volunteers and Team Maine ambassadors, hosted a group of 135 high school students and teachers from 10 schools in Taiwan. The all-day visit included our signature tours of the Advanced Structures and Composites Center, School of Performing Arts, Innovative Media Research and Commercialization Center and Wyeth Family Studio Art Center. The students enjoyed lunch at Hilltop Dining Center, observed a Bossov ballet rehearsal at the Collins Center for the Arts, and ended the day with a shopping spree at the University Bookstore. It was our second summer hosting the group. The visit created an amazing opportunity to showcase our beautiful campus and available academic opportunities at UMaine. The visiting students are enrolled in a dual US and Taiwanese high school diploma program offered by Maine Central Institute in Pittsfield, Maine, and the visit is part of our ongoing collaboration and recruitment efforts with Maine Town Academies.
