Artist Statement

Kathleen Fraize is a conceptual artist who is driven by emotion. Specifically her emotional response to the world in which she belongs, at any given moment in time. 

 

With a history as an educator and behaviorist, have played a specific and varying role in the art she produces. They can be the catalyst, the fuel, or the response. It is this deep and empathetic energy that drives her to create. 

 

Her work is influenced by societal, political and behavioral concerns, social justice is a primary focus.

 

Through her work Kathleen strives to inform, educate and communicate. But every now and then, Kathy cannot refuse the opportunity to throw out a one-liner. Humor through art is of great importance and significance to this artist, who is extremely serious in general.
