The present collection, is part of a research in progress, to develop sculptural planters that can improve the survival chances of plants indoors. The structures, are fully made with recycling materials, they contain a self-watering system and are designed to create a protective environment for the plants.

About Adriana

Adriana Cavalcanti is a Brazilian artist based in Maine, with a background in botany, landscape architecture, and ceramics. She is interested in themes of sustainability, life cycles, ephemerality, and climate change, and is constantly finding inspiration in nature. Adriana uses cross-disciplinary approaches to create conceptual artwork made with natural and recycled materials, that can vary from two-dimensional imagery to three-dimensional objects, as well as socially engaging practices and performances to address environmental or social issues.
