Spring 2025- Graduate Student Position(s) in School of Food and Agriculture, University of Maine.
Jin group at the School of Food and Agriculture, University of Maine is seeking 1-2 full-
time M.S. or Ph.D. students, starting in the Spring of 2025. Scholarships will be provided to cover student’s tuition and stipend.
Successful candidates will work on:
- Developing economically viable and environmentally friendly processing technologies to produce value-added bioproducts from agricultural commodities and wastes;
- Applying bio-polymers for sustainable food packaging design.

Qualified backgrounds for potential graduate students include Food science/engineering, agricultural engineering, biosystem engineering, environmental engineering, chemical engineering, or related fields. Experience with biomass component fractionation, material characterization, food packaging, and chemical analysis is preferred. Demonstrating a good publication record is a plus.
