Jiang Awarded Correll Fellowship
In recognition of her outstanding academic accomplishments, Helen Jiang received a $5,000 Correll Fellowship to complete her Ph.D. dissertation this summer. Jiang’s research focuses on an oomycete potato pathogen called Phytophthora erythroseptica. The pathogen causes pink rot disease of potato, which is a major threat to the potato industry in Maine. She is studying the interaction among this pathogen, environmental microorganisms, and the host plant. Jiang received her Ph.D. in August and is now traveling in her home country of China. She will continue her postdoctoral research with her advisor Dr. Jianjun Hao. We look forward to hearing news from Helen when she returns from her travels.
Congratulations on completing your Ph.D. Helen!
