Earth Sciences revamps courses, major
In Fall 2009, the Department of Earth Sciences instituted a new curriculum and revised its requirements for the B.S. and B.A. degrees. These changes were made with the three primary goals of (1) increasing the climate change, surficial processes, and societal relevance content, (2) offering a wider variety of elective courses, and (3) providing more pathways for students to engage in research. Students who were majors prior to this semester have the option of using the old or new guidelines.
We will offer several new courses as part of this change, including:
- ERS201 – Global Environmental Change
- ERS312 – Geochemistry
- ERS323 – Severe and Hazardous Weather
- ERS369 – Energy Resouces and Climate Change
- ERS350 – Fresh water flow
- ERS451 – Tectonics
