University Environment
Maine is a vacation destination for many. Beautiful mountain and seascapes provide opportunities for outdoor enthusiasts. Maine is the home of Acadia National Park and Mount Katahdin (part of the Appalachian Trail). The Bangor Waterfront is the location of many summertime events, including the American Folk Festival and waterfront concerts that draw thousands of music lovers each year.
The Internship Program is part of the Food Science and Human Nutrition Graduate Program in the School of Food and Agriculture at the University of Maine in Orono, ME.
Orono is a small town, close to Bangor (pop. 32,391). The campus is safe, and the crime rate is low in Maine.
Food Science and Human Nutrition research laboratories, classrooms, and offices for faculty and graduate students are located in Hitchner Hall and Rogers Hall. Faculty are friendly and accessible. Class offerings are diverse. Students come from a variety of backgrounds and geographic areas.
