What is a digital badge? A digital badge is an innovative tool for capturing and validating a personalized set of accomplishments. Badges contain information about these experiences, including the criteria for earning the badge (e.g., papers, videos and weblinks). Earned badges can be shared on social media sites such as LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter.
This Wednesday we will be hearing from Lisa Carter of UMaine’s Career Center and Claire Sullivan for the University of Maine System. CS Connected has implemented a “badge” system this semester to reward engaged students for taking part in the CS Connected Wednesday meet-ups. Claire will explain the UMS Micro-Credential Framework and what micro-credentials are offered at UMaine. Lisa will explain how you can earn the Career Prepared micro-credential and how badges can benefit you.
