Julianna Silver
Julianna Silver is a second-year Master’s student in UMaine’s Aquaculture and Aquatic Resource program. She works for CORE as a Graduate Assistant, specifically for the Freezer Program.
Research Areas:
Blue mussels, Mytlius edilus, as surveillance for the aquatic pathogen Vibrio anguillarum to mitigate aquaculture losses; zoonotic diseases and animal health, including the One Health approach
Duties and Skills:
– Assists with ordering from a variety of research supply vendors
– Maintains relationships between principal investigators and vendors regarding product status
– Investigates requests for unusual supplies or other questions or concerns
– Requests supplies for researchers at other system campuses
– Arranges special storage requirements and provides convenient access parameters for researchers
