Jessica Majors

Jess Majors has been working as a member of CORE since 2019. She took a year off to work in UMaine’s Animal and Veterinary Sciences (AVS) department as a program coordinator and academic advisor before returning to CORE as a graduate assistant in the eDNA Service Center while she completes her Master of Professional Studies in Microbiology. When Jess is not working on her Master’s or in the lab, she’s at the gym, at home in her garden, or out hiking with her border-collie/Aussie mix pup. Jess enjoys pub trivia, powerlifting, and a strong espresso beverage.

Professional Objectives:
Continue to use and improve upon DNA extraction skills

Duties and Skills:
– Run DNA extractions on eDNA samples
– Facilitate Freezer Program ordering
– Serve as a resource to others regarding DNA analysis
