Henry Carfagno

Henry Carfagno came to the University of Maine in 2023 after being a research assistant for the Doty Research Group at the University of Delaware.  Outside of work, he enjoys woodworking and reading.

Ph.D., Materials Science, University of Delaware

Research Areas:
Electron beam lithography (EBL) design and generation, Inductively-coupled plasma-reactive ion etching (ICP-RIE), Gallium arsenide photonics and quantum dots, Nanolithography characterization

Professional Objectives:
Maintaining excellence in the CORE Micro- and Nanofabrication Cleanroom, and providing technical assistance to researchers

Duties and Skills:
– Operate and maintain thin-film and microfabrication equipment in the CORE Cleanroom
– Develop and optimize in-demand microfabrication, characterization, and analysis techniques and processes
– Train students and other users to utilize CORE equipment
– Serve as a research support and technical resource
– Serve as the Engineering and Science Research Building safety office contact
