Frustrated by Hearing Loss? Keys to Communication Success
In these sessions you will be learning about available opportunities for individuals who have known hearing loss (or suspected hearing loss)and their communication partners. Explore aspects of easier communication and learn strategies to overcome the challenges of hearing loss. Participants will learn communication strategies using methods that are easy to understand and incorporate into daily life. Each session will be led by Audiologist Amy Booth from the University of Maine along with graduate students in Communication Sciences and Disorders. Topics and Activities: “Clear Speech” for Communication Partners, Better Listening Exercise, Understanding, Your Audiogram, Cognitive Decline and Hearing Loss, Hearing Screening
Session 2: Wednesday April 3rd 4:30 – 6:30 PM
Topics and Activities: Technologies Other than Hearing Aids, Tinnitus, Is It My Hearing or How Others Talk?, Hearing Screening
