Take CITL’s Accessible Syllabus Challenge!

What is it?

A five day, targeted asynchronous program to improve the digital accessibility of your syllabus. You will be able to engage as much as you are able for each topic, using resources and examples provided.

There are two options for you to engage in this program. You can choose to explore on your own time, or you can opt to join our 5-day challenge and receive daily email prompts. We run the 5-day challenge the week prior to the start of every fall and spring semesters. As part of the 5-day challenge, participants will receive daily emails and prompts. However, you will have access to the resources indefinitely, and so can engage or return to the work at your convenience.

Who should participate?

Anyone preparing to teach and who has their syllabus 90% ready at least!

What does it entail?

Each day you will get a targeted set of resources focused on the accessibility of your course including:

  • Day One: An introduction to accessibility at UMaine
  • Day Two: How to structure documents
  • Day Three: How to format links
  • Day Four: How to use imagery
  • Day Five: How to build tables
  • Bonus!: How to keep learning
