Men’s Rugby
Created in 1973, the University of Maine men’s rugby club has stood the test of time. With years and years of success as a club sport at the university men’s rugby has not only grown on campus but across the United States. Competitive rugby is growing into a popular sport around the U.S. and it has become stronger at the UMaine since its creation. In the past, rugby games at UMaine have been looked at as top-tier club sporting events to be a part of on campus. Nearly every Saturday during the fall semester, you can find the men’s rugby team competing to extend their playoff chances. In recent years, the men’s rugby club proudly holds much success such as tournament wins, national championship bids, and three straight years of top 50 NCR rankings.
