2019 Dirigo Leadership Conference

The Dirigo Leadership Conference will focus on many different facets of leadership. Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in roundtable discussions, breakout sessions, hands-on leadership initiatives, and guest speakers.  We look forward to supporting you in your leadership journey!

The Dirigo Student Leadership Conference Committee invites you to join us in Orono, Maine on October 5, 2019 as we host the Dirigo Leadership Conference. Cost of attendance is $10 per person. This will cover breakfast, lunch and a full day of leadership development. Registration can be completed via the link below. We ask that payment be made onsite the day of the conference via credit card or check made out to ‘The University of Maine’. Priority registration deadline is September 27, 2019.  Day of registration will be available; however, conference price will be $15.  Please register here!

Attendees will have the opportunity to attend programs geared towards the following tracks:

  • Emerging Leadership– This track is geared towards new leaders looking to make a difference in their communities. Possible topics in this track include: Diversity and Inclusion, Ethical Decision Making, So you want to be a student leader? The University Journey, Student Wellness etc…

  • Developing Leadership– This track is geared towards students who have found their communities and are looking to further develop their organizations or plan for their leadership style after graduation. Possible topics in this track include: Conflict Resolution, Senior Year Prep, Entering the “real world”, Higher Education Express etc…

  • Residence Life– This track is geared towards student leaders in Residence Life (RAs/CAs, RHA, NRHH, etc). Possible topics in this track include: Residential Curriculum, Social Programming, Bringing Pinterest to life, Bulletin Boards, Door Decs, Duty Protocol Tips and Tricks, Mental Health Awareness etc…

  • Campus Activities– This track is geared towards student leaders in Campus Activities (CAB, Union Board, etc) to problem solve and learn from others in their shoes. Possible topics in this track include: What happens when a program “fails,”Assessment of campus programs, Marketing events, Programming on a Budget, How to run a successful event etc…

  • Advisors– This track is geared towards advisors. This track will be taught by advisors for advisors striving to best support and develop student leaders. Possible topics include: Risk management for student groups, New professionals, Seasoned professionals etc…
