The college years are a major turning point for most students. This is often the first time students find themselves on their own. There are new friends, new responsibilities and new choices to face. One of the many decisions that must be made is whether to use alcohol. In fact, and overwhelming majority of college students drink. Of even greater concern is the quantity of alcohol consumed. In one study, 40% of students polled admitted to binge drinking in the last two weeks; national studies indicate those attending college spend more on alcoholic beverages than on textbooks. Due to the number of problems this creates for students, alcohol has been labeled by experts as the number one health problem on college campuses. Yet there is often very little education about dealing with alcohol responsibility, particularly as it relates to our dating and sexual relationships.
This video will help you recognize a situation or someone you know; hopefully it will help you become aware of some of the potential problems associated with drinking, especially in access. Be prepared for situation’s that you might encounter – know the facts about alcohol, and how it can affect you and your relationships!
