How It Works
What does AMP stand for?
Academic Material Program
AMP at UMaine is a course material delivery program that provides students access to all required course materials each semester. The program provides an equitable as well as affordable ($239.99 per semester) avenue for students to gain access to their course material on the first day of class. The program also allows faculty to retain the academic freedom to choose the course material best suited for their student’s success without concern for the cost to the student.
The program is administered by the University Bookstore featuring digital course materials, where possible, delivered directly to a student’s Brightspace course shell by the first day of classes. Physical materials such as lab manuals and paper textbooks are also included in the program and will be picked up at the University Bookstore in Memorial Union.
All enrolled students are billed directly on their student account for the course material in July for the fall semester and December for the spring semester. The student does have the ability to OPT OUT until the add/drop period is closed, typically the first week of class. If opting out the charge automatically is removed from the student account.
