Maine Hello! - Volunteer Registration
Join us in this great tradition and be here to welcome the Class of 2017 on Friday, August 30th from 8:00am-4:00pm!
Faculty, Staff, Graduate Student, Alumni, Retiree and Community Member Volunteers:
In order to meet the needs of your busy schedule you can register to volunteer for shifts in two hour blocks, or even for the whole day- whatever works best with your schedule! You can volunteer for one of our two positions, as described below:
Greeters are stationed throughout campus to welcome students and parents, to answer questions, and to provide basic information. Each Greeter receives a navy blue Maine Hello polo shirt and a ticket for a free lunch on Maine Hello.
Team Leaders assist at the 9 residence halls where first-year students are moving in. Team Leaders oversee a group of returning student volunteers, assist in keeping traffic flowing smoothly in and out of the building as the student volunteers assist our new students in moving their belongings into the building. Each Team Leader receives a Maine Hello shirt and a ticket for a free lunch on Maine Hello.
Volunteer with us at the 2013 Maine Hello!
- Moving into a residence hall this fall? If you volunteer with us, you’ll get to move in early on Wednesday, August 28th (time TBD). You don’t have to put up with traffic, you get first dibs on used books, and you get to choose which side of the room you want!
- Part of a club or organization? Get your name out there to new students! This is a great way to tell some of our 2000 newest students all about your club and organization.
- Like hanging out with your friends? You can sign up with your friends, roommates or fellow club members! We will do our best to put groups together at the same building location so that you can hang out together all day.
- Find out about other volunteer opportunities for Fall Welcome Weekend! If you’re interested in other ways to get involved during Fall Welcome Weekend, mark which events you would like to help with and we’ll let the coordinating offices know. This includes the President’s Dinner on the Mall, the Day of Service and an opportunity to talk to new students about your college/major!
Every volunteer will receive a free Maine Hello t-shirt, a free meal for that day and that warm, fuzzy feeling you get from helping others. There will also be a mandatory training for all student volunteers for Maine Hello on the afternoon of Thursday, August 29th from 10:00am until 2:00pm at the CCA.
