Memphis Peterson
Memphis Peterson is entering his senior year at the University of Maine, majoring in Political Science while minoring in History and Legal Studies. After growing up in central Arizona and then moving to Islesboro, Maine, Memphis joined the Black Bear community in 2021 and has served the undergraduate student body ever since.
In his role as Vice President of Student Government, Memphis chairs the Undergraduate Student Senate while working closely with President Tripp to ensure connectivity, safety and service, and accountability within the UMaine community. Prior to serving as Vice President, Memphis served as the chair of the Policy & Procedure and Services committees, as UMSG’s security representative, as the Senate’s sergeant-at-arms, and as president pro-tempore.
Beyond his academic and leadership responsibilities, Memphis enjoys video games, hiking, camping, and target archery. Memphis is passionate about engaging with his fellow black bears, and invites everyone to visit him during his office hours, 11am-2pm every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday in the back of the Wade Center
