We all recognize the need for and importance of relevant and meaningful learning. But how do we decide what’s worth teaching? Aside from addressing broad standards, how do we understand what is meaningful to our students? Join us as we model a unique process which can be used with students to garner their questions and concerns and help us build more real and relevant learning.

Many times, we endeavor to understand students’ interests. What do we do with that understanding? If we gather students’ questions and concerns and imagine possible themes of study that might help us study these questions, how do we use these questions and themes to build a unit of study? Join us to explore several ways to craft relevant units that engage the curiosity and imagination of our students.
