There is a large and growing body of research on the value of adding the natural world to our lives, regardless of our age. It takes the literacy classroom outside to advance children’s knowledge of the natural world, comprehension, vocabulary, writing skills, focus, engagement, and sense of well-being. Drawing on 30+ years of teaching, including in the Alaskan Bush, Susan will share research and practical applications to get your literacy program back to the wild.
