UCC offers a large selection of courses across many majors. Exchange/Visiting students have access to a special set of courses designed specifically for them. Minimum GPA Requirement: 3.0

Full-Time Enrollment:

UMaine students must be registered for at least 30 UCC/ECTS credits each semester.

Exchange students will be covered by the University of Maine health insurance. Please refer to budget for this cost.

You will be allowed to take up casual employment of up to 20 hours part-time work per week in term time or up to 40 hours per week during college vacation periods, that is, from June to September inclusive and from 15 December to 15 January.

Accommodation is available in campus housing. A popular location for UMaine students and George J. Mitchell Scholars is Victoria Lodge. Public transportation is available outside both apartment complexes to and from the city center. The apartments include WiFi, TV, and a fully furnished living area and kitchen. The living space is shared, with 3 to 6 attached bedrooms.

You’ll live in Cork, the second largest city of Ireland, located on the south coast of the country. With a boasting of arts, films, and jazz festivals, you’ll have the chance to view live performances and have ample choice in cafes, restaurants, boutiques, and markets.

Named the European Capital of Culture in 2005, the city was praised by Lonely Planet as one of the top 10 cities in the world to visit; the city boasts international arts, film, and jazz festivals, lively performing arts and a growing artisanal culinary culture of cafes, restaurants, markets, and boutiques. Cork is situated at the head of the inlet of Cork Harbor with the sea just to the south, mountains, hills, and river valleys to the north and east, and the well-known Lakes of Killarney a couple hours to the west.
