Biography
Karen Pendleton has a Bachelor of Arts degree in music from Wellesley College and a Master of Music degree in Vocal Performance from the University of Maine, as well as a Master of Library Science degree from Simmons College. She is certified in Somatic Voicework™: The LoVetri Method for teaching contemporary commercial music techniques.
A member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing, Karen is a recitalist and has performed as a soloist with many area ensembles, including the Bagaduce Chorale, Penobscot Theater, and the Hancock County Gilbert & Sullivan Society. She portrayed Rosalinda in Die Fledermaus in the 1996 inaugural production of the University of Maine School of Performing Arts at the Maine Center for the Arts.
In addition to her work at the University of Maine, Karen teaches privately at her studio in Bangor and presents master classes for various area groups.
