Missouri SMART student to participate in Global Leadership Summit in Berlin, Germany
Camdenton High School SMART student Je’Anne Wagner has been recognized by the Educational Tours Global Citizen Scholarship for a water-related solution that addresses a community water concern. The solution that Je’Anne submitted was a direct result of her work at the UMaine SMART Institute and addresses a local concern at Lake of the Ozarks (MO) related to E. coli contamination and faulty septic systems. As a result of this project Je’Anne will participate in the technology-focused Global Leadership Summit in Berlin, Germany next July and have the opportunity to collaborate with other young leaders to design solutions for the Global technological landscape. If selected from this institute, Je’Anne will have the chance to travel to, and have her solution featured, in the Nobel Museum in Stockholm, Sweden. See Je’Anne’s video submission that describes her technology idea for a hand-held coliform detection device.
