The light microscopy photographs of protozoa and fungi were produced using facilities in the National Sciences Forestry and Agriculture Digital Imaging Lab, 306 Hitchner Hall, University of Maine, Orono, USA.
The equipment used included
- Nikon Labophot compound microscope with brightfield condenser
- Olympus BX-60 compound microscope with phase contrast, Nomarski differential interference contrast, and darkfield condensers
- Optronics LX-450 CCD Digital Video camera
- Sony 19 inch color monitor with 800 lines of vertical resolution
- Images were captured on a Dell Optiplex Pentium II 466 computer
- The capture card/software was Intel’s Digital Video Producer
