Dianne Avery

Dianne Avery is a life-long Mainer, residing in Old Town for most of her life. She graduated
from Husson College in 1981 with an Associate Degree in Business Science. She is proud to
have two children who have earned several advanced degrees from the University of Maine
System. She arrived at the University of Maine in 1985 as a secretary working in the College of
Education and Human Development for the Penquis Inservice Project. She worked in the
College for 27 years, advancing in positions under the mentorship of Deans Robert Cobb and
Anne Pooler. In 2012, she accepted the Administrative and Fiscal Coordinator position in the
Office of the Provost. She has enjoyed the opportunities afforded by moving to a centralized
position on campus and the many contacts she has made across campus in her 40 years of
service. She currently serves as the Senior Director of Academic Affairs Operations and
Finance.
