Information Technology and Space

The University of Maine is committed to the strategic use of resources to maintain and improve our facilities in service to our tripartite mission of teaching, research, and service.

Academic Affairs partnered this past year with Facilities Management, US:IT, and Faculty Senate on the Paint & Polish Classrooms Committee, a body tasked with identifying and prioritizing Summer 2016 classroom upgrades. The committee produced a list of 16 classrooms– 15 on the Orono campus and one at the Darling Marine Center– designated for major or minor renovations, including the creation of a new active learning classroom in Shibles Hall.

Provost Hecker updated the campus community on these upgrades, ongoing support for classroom needs, and communication about classrooms.
