Robby Finley

Courses I Teach

I regularly offer courses in Logic, Ancient Philosophy, Philosophy of Games, Philosophy of Mind and AI, and American Pragmatism.

My Focus

My research focuses on topics related to the philosophy of logic, mathematics, and ancient philosophy. I have written or am writing on topics related to ancient philosophy of mathematics and logic (like Aristotle’s position on infinity or the law of non-contradiction), the epistemology of logic (like C.S. Peirce’s philosophy of logic and pragmatist frameworks for theory choice in logic), and the philosophy of games (like the value of games in reasoning). I enjoy working on research projects with undergraduates on related topics, so please reach out if you are interested in pursuing undergraduate research at UMaine!
