In Fall 24′ Dr. Arel will be teaching PHI 100: Contemporary Moral Problems and PHI 232: Environmental Ethics.
My Focus
Dr. Arel specializes in 19th and 20th Century Continental Philosophy, especially Hegel. He is currently working on the concept of freedom as well as understanding what it means to be a part of a culture and what is revealed by particular aspects of our culture. He also works in public philosophy and is the founder and General Editor of localphilosophy.org, a nonprofit public philosophy organization that focuses on engaging philosophers and philosophical thinking within particular communities.
