Courses I Teach
For the Fall ’24 semester I am teaching:
PHI 102: Introduction to Philosophy
PHI 104: Existentialism and Literature
My Focus
I am a specialist in 19th and 20th century continental philosophy (specifically Nietzsche and Heidegger) whose primary areas of philosophical interest include existentialism, phenomenology, philosophy of history, and critical pedagogy. My academic research has focused on 20th century German and French intellectual history, as well as the uses of phenomenological methods of investigation for radical pedagogical projects. I have worked as a teacher both inside and outside of the university setting for several years; subjects that I have taught have included literature, mathematics, history, and writing. I am also a poet and fiction writer; I have published two chapbooks of poetry, as well as individual poems and stories.
