2025-2026 Philosophy Ambassadors

Marguerita

Marguerita is a fourth year Philosophy and WGS student, with a minor in creative writing. She is in the Honors College and is currently writing her thesis in feminist philosophy. She is the president of Women in Philosophy and the secretary of Triota. She is also the 2025 recipient of the Erling Skorpen Memorial Prize in Ethics. Her philosophical interests include phenomenology, existentialism, ethics, feminist philosophy and gender theory. Marguerita is known less formally as Mars, and is usually full of whimsy (when the sun is out). She is always happy to listen to and get to know others.

Søren

Søren is a third-year student with a Philosophy major and English minor. His philosophical areas of interest include, but are not limited to: history of philosophy, ethics, and logic. As a Levinson Ambassador, he looks forward to assisting in any way he can, but will act as a Learning Assistant for PHI: 250 Logic. In his free time (and sometimes when he doesn’t have free time), Søren enjoys reading, listening to music, playing music, talking about listening to music, and talking about playing music. Find him if you want to yap about Jimi Hendrix!

Maggie

Maggie is a third- year student majoring in Philosophy with a minor in History. She is interested in utilizing philosophy to explore contemporary subjects, particularly technology and gender. Outside of school Maggie enjoys photography, watching 70s horror movies, and listening to any and all music- she is currently into jazz fusion

Sophie

Sophie is a fourth-year student double majoring in Philosophy and Psychology with a minor in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality studies. This particular combination of disciplines allows them to pursue a holistic investigation of what it means to be a person. They are interested in applying philosophy to contemporary issues such as gender, health, and discrimination. Sophie just finished up their capstone paper titled “Disembodied Selves: The Transgender Experience”, which takes a phenomenological approach in exploring the embodiment of trans people within our culture. Once they graduate, Sophie plans to earn their cosmetology degree and then pursue a master’s in psychology. They believe that philosophy is a neglected part of modern psychology and would love to talk about it to anyone who will listen. As a Levinson Ambassador, they will help out with PHI 250: Logic and be nearby to chat with anyone who has questions about it. In their free time, Sophie enjoys building connections with people, wandering around outdoors, creating with their hands, looking up random books in the library, and then going to find them, hyperfixating on strange things (Chernobyl was a big one), watching video essays, and “customizing their character” (piercings, tattoos, hair stuff). Feel free to stop by to chat with them about life or whatever is on your mind.

Wyatt

Wyatt is a fourth-year student double majoring in Philosophy and Psychology. His philosophical interest is phenomenology, specifically delving into the experience of connectedness and loneliness. As a Philosophy Ambassador, Wyatt will serve as a learning assistant for Dr. Bredlau’s PHI 235 : Biomedical Ethics course. He is also the president of the Philosophy Club. In his free time, he watches far too many movies, crochets, and runs.
