The Page Farm and Home Museum will be celebrating the opening of its “The Quilt Cupboard” exhibit with a reception on Saturday, October 26, at 1:00 p.m. The exhibit features examples from the Museum’s lovely collection of heritage quilts that have been donated over the years by Maine families, and that are being displayed now for the very first time. Whether created to keep a loved one warm, to make a decorative impact, to bid farewell to departing friends, or to auction for charity, the quilts show a fascinating array of fabrics and techniques and tell a vivid story of the lives and work of women over the centuries in Maine and New England. Please join us at the opening celebration — and be sure to invite your quilt-loving family and friends, too! There will be refreshments, informal discussion of the quilts’ unique characteristics, and plenty of parking. This event is free and open to the public. FMI: 207-581-4100.
