Become a Family Nurse Practitioner
Address Maine’s rural healthcare provider workforce shortage with up to $25,000/year in financial support or more when you serve as part-time faculty for the BSN program.
The ANEW Program’s Mission:
Increase the number of primary care nurse practitioners prepared to provide high-quality care, including mental health and substance use disorder services, in medically underserved and rural communities.
Who is eligible to be an ANEW trainee?
Any Bachelor prepared Registered Nurse in Maine and eligible to work in the United States.
Financial Support for Trainees:
- Up to $25,000/year grant
- Tuition and fees covered
- Living expenses support (e.g., childcare, housing, health insurance, travel, learning materials/textbooks)
Ongoing Funding Requirements:
- Complete educational requirements (e.g., seminars, webinars, conferences, clinical hours, etc.)
- Maintain good academic standing per the School of Nursing Graduate Student Handbook
- Complete surveys and data requests for up to one year after graduation
