The Marsh Island Chapter of NRHH

Our History

The Marsh Island Chapter of NRHH started as a small idea amongst members of the University of Maine’s Residence Hall Association. These members saw the need to appreciate and recognize the strong student leadership qualities in their university community and thus formed the NRHH Foundation and Development Committee.

This committee, composed of Aiden Ciaffaglione,  Jordan Lamkins, Joshua Northrop, Mackenzie Creamer, Zofia Antczak, Carly Fredericks

On May 3rd, 2019, The Marsh Island Chapter of NRHH became an official student organization and honors society at the University of Maine.

Our Values

The Marsh Island Chapter of NRHH has two core values including: Recognition and Service. These values originate from the National Association for College and University Residence Halls (NACURH), who formed the national organization of NRHH in 1964.

Our chapter aims to recognize not only the top 1% of student leaders in our university community, but all the student leaders and community members who go above and beyond to serve their community’s needs. As a chapter, we value all of the people within our community and their dedication to improving the lives of others.

Our chapter also serves the people and the organizations around us; whether locally on our campus, in the Bangor or Orono community, at a regional level within the North East, or nationally with support from other NACURH affiliated schools or community service driven organizations.

Our chapter and its members all have a common goal; to change the lives of others by serving them and recognizing their contributions to the community.

Our Executive Board Members

Every Spring Semester, a new Executive Board is voted on by the members of our chapter. Our E-board consists of a President, Vice President of Recognition, and Vice President of Service. All E-Board members must have been an on-campus member for at least two semesters. Click here to learn more about our current executive board.
