UMaine Career Fair returns to New Balance Recreation Center Feb. 12

The University of Maine’s Career Fair will return to the New Balance Student Recreation Center on Wednesday, Feb. 12 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. and is open to all majors.

This is the largest career fair in the state and is held each year for UMaine and University of Maine at Machias students and alumni. It is also open to students from other universities and the general public.

Over 150 employers from Maine and around the country will participate, and there are positions available for internships, as well as full time, part time and summer jobs. The Career Center anticipates that 80% of employers are looking for interns, so students in all stages of their academic career should plan to attend. Students may view the list of registered organizations and filter the employers by available positions and preferred majors on the Career Center website.

Students should dress professionally, bring printed copies of their resume and prepare a 30 second introductory pitch. Career Center staff are available to help prepare students for interviews and update their resumes during extended walk-in hours from 10am-3pm on Monday and Tuesday.

Students driving to the event must park in the Collins Center for the Arts and Belgrade lots. There will be a free shuttle for the event, traveling from the east end of the CCA lot to the New Balance Recreation Center, running throughout the day.

The Career Fair is underwritten by Cintas, Tyler Technologies and 1820 Spirits.
