Inside Higher Ed interviews Roberts about online enrollment
Richard Roberts, executive director of academic program support and online learning for the University of Maine, spoke with Inside Higher Education about enrollment in the university’s online programming. Roberts said that the number of students enrolled across all 60 programs soared from just under 1,000 in 2020 to nearly 1,500 now. UMaine offers more than 60 fully online programs, whose students are on average 33 years old. In some programs, as many as 90% of students work while they earn their degree, Robert said.
