WFVX (FOX22/ABC7) reported on the growth in enrollment and retention at the University of Maine for the fall 2024 semester. “We’re very excited about our enrollment numbers. We were predicting around 1,900 entering students and we’re, right now, a little over 2,000 [at UMaine and UMaine Machias],” said John Volin, executive vice president for academic affairs and provost at UMaine. President Joan Ferrini-Mundy spoke with News Center Maine for a report about the overall growth in enrollment across the University of Maine System. “For a student who wants to try out an interest of intrigue or creative development or of scientific research of some kind, they get the chance the minute they get here at the University of Maine,” Ferrini-Mundy said.
