Media highlight most partner-friendly top-tier research universities
Inside Higher Ed and The Chronicle of Higher Education highlighted the “Partner Hire Scorecard” developed by researchers from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, in which the University of Maine ranked second among top tier research universities nationwide. The report qualitatively analyzed the publicly available policies, materials and resources of 146 universities with an R1 designation from Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education and scored them based on the types of offerings and support made available to the partners of new hires. UMaine’s Spouse and Partner Accommodation Program identifies employment opportunities on campus and helps qualified partners of new hires pursue them.
