News Center interviews Black Bear Beekeepers president on Bee Campus designation
News Center Maine interviewed Kat Gross, a University of Maine student and president of the Black Bear Beekeepers club, on UMaine’s designation as a Bee Campus by Bee City USA. Gross said protecting bees is especially important for state crops like blueberries and that pollinators are responsible for about a third of the food humans consume. The Bee Campus designation is important to help build community and awareness, she said.
