Sports arena, hockey center renovation plans highlighted by media
Mainebiz, WGME, and WABI highlighted the recently announced renovation plans for the Alfond Sports Arena and Walsh Hockey Center as part of UMS TRANSFORMS and by a historic $320 million commitment the Harold Alfond Foundation made to the University of Maine System. Renovations include new locker rooms, updated offices, improved training equipment, upgraded sports medicine capabilities. There will also be a concourse entrance connecting the two hockey facilities with space for ticket sales, concessions and a Bear Necessities team store.
