UMaine names Jason Smith assistant vice president for student life

The University of Maine Division of Student Life has hired Jason Smith for the role of assistant vice president for student life. He will join the division on April 1.

Smith has a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Tarleton State University; a Master of Education in Counseling/Human Development from Hardin-Simmons University and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. 

He possesses an extensive list of experiences in student life. His previous appointments include dean of student/director of residence life at Western New Mexico University, vice president for student services at the Lamar Institute of Technology and chief compliance officer with the Triangle Area Network.
